After discussions on the Board of Governors and the work of staff to support and uphold the rights of pupils over many years, the pledge was taken to keep working for pupils to reduce the need for the use of restrictive practice. This has included a focus on communication and the neurodiverse needs of the pupils we serve.
The better understanding of the child’s needs has meant greater awareness of each individuals need for processing time, sensory input and the structure in which to learn. Supporting each child to develop the skills of inclusion, to learn together with their peers.
