New School Build

In 2013 following a fire in Arvalee School that destroyed 90% of the school building the Education Minister John O'Dowd announced that Arvalee School would get a new building as Phase 1 of the Shared Education Campus Omagh.

The new build has moved forward and DE have committed significant resources to ensure that the children in the Omagh district with Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties have access to a state of the art facility to support their learning. This will be enhanced as part of the Shared Education Campus with access to Shared buildings as a partner school on the site.

Arvalee School will open on the Site in September 2016 while the Shared Buildings and other Schools will follow within 4 years of this date.

Mr Gray, the staff and the pupils have been closely involved in the design brief of the new building with a key consideration of how pupils will learn in this building. Currently the School building is under construction and the pupils are engaged in designing the playground.
